David Wedebrant
David began his career at 18 by getting involved in running two pre-Facebook social networks, focusing on creativity and design within the rapidly changing digital world. When Facebook later arrived, he co-founded one of Scandinavia’s first digital/social PR agencies, which led to a decade of working with both startups and global brands on communication, product and services. He later joined the leading digital agency network in the region, and led the acquisition and management of what would become one of the largest digital assignments in Scandinavia.
AKQA approached David in the fall of 2015 with the opportunity to help build a new studio in Sweden and directing global digital campaigns for Volvo Cars. AKQA's Scandinavian presence grew rapidly, and was soon servicing not only Volvo Cars but also H&M, IKEA, Minecraft, NIKE and many other blue-chip brands.
As AKQA expanded, David was named General Manager of Sweden in 2018, and led the company though the pandemic and beyond. In 2021 David was made Managing Director and has since overseen the expansion to Norway and Finland as part of a region consisting of 9 studios – also servicing clients like NVIDIA, Louis Vuitton, Rolls-Royce and many others.
